Exhibition Space Altered and Extended
Over the Christmas holidays we made some fairly serious alterations to the configuration of the gallery space. We have removed the wall between the black gallery and the smaller rear gallery and opened up the space creating a generous new exhibition space which meanders around the corner from the main gallery. As you can see see, we have kept the floor-to-ceiling vertical window bays which so generously illuminate glass and sculpture and which were a popular feature of the old object or black gallery.

World Class Collection of Studio Pottery Consigned
Master potter Shoji Hamada
In the middle of this year (exact date tbc) we will be offering an absolutely world class collection of studio pottery from a singular, visionary collector in Wellington. Whilst including many pots by New Zealand potters such as Len Castle, Warren Tippett, Roy Cowan and Juliet Peters the collection is most impressive by virtue of the many international potters you see in books and catalogues but rarely in the flesh in this country. These include Lucie Rie, Hans Coper, Cardew, Shoji Hamada and many more. Preliminary details will appear in our upcoming art catalogue.
