Assignment Group is run by ex-Saatchi & Saatchi advertising legends Kim Thorp, Peter Cullinane, James Hall and Howard Grieve. Assignment Group continues to create advertising, most notably the award winning %100 Pure New Zealand campaign, but they reject the 'agency' tag working in a more client focused, strategic and under the radar manner.
This year they have teamed with ART+OBJECT to create The Assignment Showcase which for one year only displays the work of an artist which they are intrigued by, in the foyer of their Shortland Street offices. At the end of the year the work is either purchsed by someone at the company or put on the open market, with any profit being shared by the artist. This year they selected Australia's Venice representative Hany Armanious and his nine part installation Untitled - Snake Oil.
